The bleeding eye

An eye without a pupil, without directed gaze, without light.

An eye turned inward , which no longer sees the world but bleeds from having absorbed too much of it.

The material, dense, almost dirty, evokes a charged, distorted vision, crossed by the weight of what is not said .

It is not a visible injury, but a deep fatigue , an emotional overflow lodged in the center of oneself.

The wood, a living medium, here becomes a thick skin that cracks under the layers of putty – like an accumulation of experiences, silences, internal confrontations.

The rust color is not blood but oxidation: the wear of the gaze, the oxygen of pain .

Deep blue suffocates the air, black closes the frame.

The bleeding eye is a silent scream.

That of introspection pushed to its paroxysm, when seeing becomes too heavy, and we prefer to feel, to lose ourselves, to collapse in order to be better reborn.

Medium: Painting on wood with added texturizing materials, mainly hand-carved putty.

Texture: Overlays of putty modeled directly on the wood, creating an expressive, raw and organic relief. The shapes are shaped in the material itself, without engraving, revealing hollows, layers, areas of tension or breathing.

Colors: Palette dominated by rusty brown, deep blue, and black. These hues evoke the warmth of life, emotional depths, and areas of shadow.

Composition: The stylized eye, placed in the center, appears to bleed or collapse, surrounded by thick lines and irregular masses. The shapes are directly sculpted into the material, giving the composition a contained, almost organic energy.

Finish: Intentionally raw and imperfect appearance, revealing gestures, accidents, hesitations, to create a textured, visceral, and resolutely introspective work.
